U.S. SOLAR PANEL SHIPMENTS HIT RECORD HIGH IN 2021, AVERAGE SHIPMENT PRICE DROPS 11%

According to a report published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) recently, U.S. solar panel shipments have increased from 21.8GW in 2020 to 28.8GW in 2021, its a new record.

 

 

Solar panel shipments include imported, exported, and manufactured domestically and shipped modules. Among them, about 80% of solar panel shipments in the United States in 2021 are imported photovoltaic modules, mainly from Asia.

 

 

The states with the largest U.S. solar panel shipments in 2021 are California, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Florida, accounting for 46% of total shipments.

 

 

Its reported that despite the influence of project delays, supply chain constraints and price fluctuation, the quantity of utility-scale solar projects are hitting record highs. In 2021, new installations of U.S. utility-scale solar systems surged 25% to a record 13.2GW, compared with 10.6GW in 2020.

 

 

The average price of solar panel shipments in 2021 fell by 11% to $0.34/kW, and the average price of solar panel shipments in 2021 was lower than the $1.96/kW in 2010.
